Hogan Lovells has advised Brookfield Business Partners (“BBP”) on its acquisition of an 85% stake in Greenergy Fuels Holdings Limited
BBP is the listed vehicle through which Brookfield Asset Management Inc.(“Brookfield”) owns and operates the business services and industrial operations of its private equity group. Brookfield is a leading global alternative asset manager with over $250 billion of assets under management. The Greenergy transaction represents the first transaction on which Hogan Lovells has acted for BBP, having previously acted for Brookfield Infrastructure and Brookfield Renewables.
Greenergy is the UK’s largest supplier of road fuels. In addition to fuels import, storage and blending activities, the Company transports and sells fuel to wholesale customers. Named as Britain’s second-biggest private company by The Sunday Times in 2016, Greenergy transported more than 18 billion litres of fuel last year, and owns a major stake in the Thames Oilport diesel storage facility.
Led by London corporate transactional partner, Steven Bryan (Picture), the deal was supported by corporate transactional partner Keith Woodhouse as well as senior associates Tamsin Doran and Hannah Logan.
The transaction is due to complete in Q2 2017.
