BMW’s $165 Million long-term power purchase agreement with Germany-based BayWa

BMW has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with BayWa for the development and supply of a photovoltaic (PV) farm to supply 252 MWh of power per year to the new manufacturing facility that the automaker currently builds in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

The deal was closed for a total of US$ 165 million. The energy will be generated by a solar plant that will be constructed, operated and maintained by BayWa inside the BMW premises.

BMW SLP, SA de CV operates as a subsidiary of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW). The Germany-headquartered company, led by Harald Krueger, Nicolas Peter and Markus Duesmann, manufactures and sells luxury cars and motorcycles worldwide. BMW in 2017 recorded €99 Billion revenues.
