Blackstone’s $2.3 billion strategic partnership with Sanchez Energy Corp.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP advised Blackstone (NYSE:BX) on its strategic 50/50 partnership with Sanchez Energy Corp. (NYSE:SN) to acquire, with funds managed by Blackstone Energy Partners L.P., Anadarko Petroleum Corp.’s (NYSE:APC) working interest in approximately 318,000 gross acres in the Western Eagle Ford for approximately $2.3 billion.

Kirkland also represented Sanchez Energy and Blackstone on the acquisition and Sanchez Energy on the financing of the deal.
