BIVA’s Authorization to operate as a Stock exchange in Mexico

White & Case advised Bolsa Institucional de Valores, S.A. de C.V. (BIVA) on the authorization process

The Mexican government authorized Cencor’s financial services company to operate the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), which is expected to launch its operations in early 2018, competing with the Mexican Stock Exchange.

In February 2013 CENCOR presented a project to create a new stock exchange to the Mexican financial authorities. Since then, we have worked together with SHCP, BANXICO, and CNBV to develop the project. In October 2015 the application for a concession to organize and operate the “Bolsa Institucional de Valores” (BIVA) was presented and in August 2017 was granted.

White & Case advised Bolsa Institucional de Valores (BIVA) with Vicente Corta (Picture), María Teresa Fernández, Álvaro Garza, Andrés Mosqueira, José Antonio Coto and Sofía Duclaud Llantada.
