Birgir Bieltvedt’s Acquisition of Domino’s Pizza Group Swedish Business

Fried Frank advised Domino’s Pizza Group plc on the deal.

Domino’s Pizza Group plc (DPG) closed the sale of PPS Foods AB, the holder of the Domino’s master franchise rights in Sweden (Domino’s Sweden) to Eyja fjárfestingafélag III EHF, a company controlled by Birgir Bieltvedt, the indirect owner of another Domino’s franchisee, DP Norway.

The disposal of Domino’s Sweden is part of DPG’s planned exit from all directly operated international markets, to allow management to focus on its core UK and Ireland operations, and follows its exit from Domino’s Norway in 2020.

Domino’s Pizza Group plc is the leading player in the fast-growing pizza market holding the exclusive master franchise to own, operate and franchise Domino’s Pizza stores in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. Additionally it owns a strategic stake in the largest pizza delivery business in Germany. The first UK store opened in Luton in 1985 and the first Irish store opened in 1991.

The Fried Frank team advising DPG was led by corporate partner Ian Lopez (Picture) and included corporate associates James Frecknall, Adrian Packer, and Nick Skill and tax associates Thomas Bramall and Richard Pilgrim.
