Belize Sugar Industries Limited’s $8 Million Loan

Hunton Andrews Kurth, Balderamos Arthurs, Courtenay Coye and Holland & Knight advised on the transaction

The Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IDB Invest”) as lender, closed on a $10 million secured loan to Belize Sugar Industries Limited, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of Belize (“BSI”) as borrower.

The proceeds of the loan will be used by BSI to finance fixed investments to increase its production of direct consumption sugars in Belize.

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IDB Invest as international counsel with a team including Vera Rechsteiner, (Picture), Ignacio Hirigoyen and Sid Sethy.

Balderamos Arthurs provided Belizean legal advice to IDB Invest with Ashanti Arthurs Martin.
