Ashurst has advised Beacon Capital Partners, in its capacity as seller and asset manager, on the sale of the London landmark CityPoint to Brookfield Asset Management for an amount in excess of £530 million, which completed on 15 December 2016.

Restructuring partner Giles Boothman (picture) led the Ashurst team, assisted by counsel Anna Langton and associate Suzanne Addison.

Beacon appointed Ashurst to act on its original acquisition of CityPoint in 2007 which was funded by debt and was subsequently securitised.

The Ashurst real estate team, led by Hugh Lumby, global head of real estate, has since dealt with all asset management transactions in relation to the building, including leasing, regears and improvements.
