Away Resorts’ Acquisition Of Aria Resorts

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, together with Mills & Reeve, advised CVC Capital Partners VIII on the deal. Goodwin Procter represented Angelo Gordon on the deal.

Leading British holiday park operator, Away Resorts (‘Away’) acquired Aria Resorts (‘Aria’). This acquisition follows CVC’s investment in Away in June 2021 on which Freshfields and M&R also advised.

The newly formed group will welcome over 750,000 holiday-markers a year and be one of the largest holiday resort brands in the UK with over 20 high quality holiday park resorts and one award-winning luxury boutique hotel across attractive coastal and country locations. Away and Aria bring a clear focus on guest experience, and the delivery of new and innovative products and services. The combined group has ambitious investment plans to continue to develop the existing estate as well as grow its footprint to enhance its market leading position.

The Freshfields team was led by Charles Hayes (Picture), Alex Mitchell and Andy Robinson.

The team at Mills & Reeve carried out due diligence for both deals and was led by Joanna Davies, Joanna Jowitt and Vincenzo Maggio.

The Goodwin team was led by partners James Spence and Martin Smith with senior associates Melissa Wilkins and Claire Haley.
