ARQIS appoints two new partners from its own ranks as of 1st January 2022. Dr. Friedrich Gebert will become a partner in the Risk focus group, while Dr. Hendrik von Mellenthin will become a partner in the HR.Law focus group.
Gebert moved from public law boutique Posser Spieth Wolfers & Partners just in May this year to establish a public commercial law practice at ARQIS. He started his career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the public law team, from which the boutique spun off in 2018. He has proven experience in large-scale environmental and regulatory projects, litigation and transactions, particularly on issues around the EU Green Deal, which is increasingly impacting many areas of business with sustainability goals.
Dr. Hendrik von Mellenthin was a department director on the executive board staff of KfW Bankengruppe until 2017 and initially joined ARQIS as a managing associate. At the beginning of 2020, he was promoted to Counsel. Within the HR.Law focus group, the employment lawyer is also part of the task force on regulated remuneration. Here, his experience in the area of the Institutional Remuneration Ordinance and the know-how of HR.Law partner Tobias Neufeld from the area of asset management remuneration were successfully combined to form a knowledge centre.
“Dr. Friedrich Gebert has impressively developed his business area shortly after joining ARQIS,” says Managing Partner Dr. Andrea Panzer-Heemeier. “Dr Hendrik von Mellenthin has been a strong performer at HR.Law for many years and has contributed to the successful expansion of the focus group. Fortunately, the partner appointments are also the result of our partner development programme, with which we use assessments and individual coaching to recognise the talents and entrepreneurial personalities in our own ranks and promote them in a goal-oriented manner.”
ARQIS is an independent law firm operating internationally. The partnership was founded in 2006 with offices in Düsseldorf, Munich and Tokyo. About 55 lawyers and legal specialists provide the highest standards of legal advice for domestic and foreign companies regarding key issues of German and Japanese commercial law.
