Alte Leipziger’s Investment in The Offshore Wind Farm Veja Mate

Noerr advised Alte Leipziger – Hallesche Leben fund on the deal.

A fund owned by the insurance group Alte Leipziger – Hallesche Leben announced an investment in the offshore wind farm Veja Mate.

Veja Mate is an offshore wind farm with a capacity of 402 MW being built in the German North Sea. The project is located ~95 km NW from Borkum island in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, an area with strong, steady winds. This will allow our 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 turbines, each with a capacity of 6 MW and a rotor diameter of 154 meters, to produce enough electricity for 400.000 German homes every year.

Alte Leipziger Lebensversicherung a.G. and Hallesche Krankenversicherung a.G. are the parent companies of the group. This is made up of many different companies that cover different business areas. As a modern financial service provider, they offer customers all insurance and finance products. The particular strength lies in the personal insurance business, especially in the areas of life and health insurance. The product range is optimally supplemented by property insurance as well as investment fund, building society and home finance products.
