Alps Alpine’s $538.5 Million Business Integration

Shearman & Sterling advised Alps Alpine Co., Ltd (Alps Alpine) (formerly Alps Electric Co., Ltd.) in connection with an SEC-registered offer, which resulted in Alpine Electronics, Inc. becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Alps Electric Co., Ltd.

The transaction was announced on July 27, 2017 and closed on January 1, 2019, with a total value of approximately ¥59 billion ($538.5 million).

Alps Alpine is a Japanese leading global manufacturer of high-quality electronic components for mobile devices, home electronics, vehicles and industrial equipment. With the philosophy of “Perfecting the Art of Electronics,” Alps Alpine supplies over 40,000 different components to about 2,000 companies all over the world.
