Actis’s Acquisition of two operating wind farms totalling 346 MW in Brazil

Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice and Trench, Rossi e Watanabe have advised on the deal

The two wind farms, the 130-MW Tiangua in Ceara state and 216-MW Sao Clemente in Pernambuco state, were purchased from Brazilian wind developer Casa dos Ventos. The facilities, coming with contracted 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs), are seed assets for Echoenergia, which is the fifth energy platform for Actis in Latin America.

The UK private equity firm said that via its newly created platform it wants to expand its footprint in the Brazilian renewable energy sector and replicate the success of Atlantic Energias Renovaveis, which has 652 MW of fully contracted assets.
