Strapi, a French open-source software for creating digital content, has raised a $10 million Series A from Index Ventures and angel investors. Led by Index Ventures, angel investors and open-source experts are also participating in the round, including Augusto Marietti and Marco Palladino, respectively CEO and CTO of Kong, David Cramer, co-founder and CTO of Sentry, and Florian Douetteau, co-founder and CEO of Dataiku.
Strapi enables companies to efficiently manage the distribution of its content from a single source and personalize the message for different communication channels, including websites, web and mobile applications, and connected objects. Founded in 2016 as a school project, Pierre Burgy (CEO), Aurélien Georget (CPO) and Jim Laurie (CTO) have built the company up to the standards of IBM, NASA and Walmart, a few of the startup’s clients. Additionally, the software has about 400 contributes and one million downloads so far.
