Posse Herrera Ruiz acted as lawyer for Sociedad Portuaria Rio Córdoba S.A. in a fiscal liability proceeding initiated against it by the Comptroller General of Republic of Colombia

Sociedad Portuaria Rio Córdoba S.A. secured a victory in a tax dispute with Comptroller General of Republic of Colombia, for a supposed patrimonial detriment caused to the State for value of USD 7.5 million dollars, as a result of a presumed greater occupation of the concession area under of a port concession contract.

Posse Herrera Ruiz successfully demonstrated that the alleged occupation did not exist and that, therefore, Sociedad Portuaria Rio Córdoba S.A. did not owe the sum claimed by the Comptroller’s General as additional compensation of the port concession contract.

Sociedad Portuaria Río Córdoba S.A. owns and operates a seaport facility used to export coal from the El Hatillo operation, as well as other nearby mines. The company operates as a subsidiary of Colombian Natural Resources SAS.
