Seattle Sounders FC’s Ownership Structure Reorganization


Hogan Lovells Denver office has advised Major League Soccer franchise Seattle Sounders FC on a series of transactions resulting in a reorganization of its ownership structure.

New investors in the team include Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his Grammy-winning wife Ciara, and Seattle-born rapper Macklemore.

The deal, which saw one of the founding owner’s, Joe Roth’s, stake pass to other existing owners and to a new 11-family group of investors, and also increases the stake of the team’s largest owner and governor, Adrian Hanauer.

Financial details of the transaction were not released.

Seattle Sounders FC is an American professional soccer club based in Seattle, Washington. The Sounders compete as a member of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS).

Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men’s professional soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation which represents the sport’s highest level in the United States.
