Sacyr Agua executed the acquisition of five water utility companies, belonging to Sembcorp Utilities (Singapore).
The target companies provide water and sewage services to the northern part of Santiago city, including the boroughs of Colina, Lampa and Lo Barnechea. Also, the acquisition includes an operation of treatment and sale of industrial water in Antofagasta.
The expected business backlog exceeds 500 million euros.
Sacyr Water will manage services of capture of raw water, distribution of potable water, collection and purification of wastewater for a population of 150,000 inhabitants, with a workforce of approximately 200 employees. This acquisition sets Sacyr´s entry to the sanitary sector in Chile, where they expect to grow in the following years.
Deloitte acted as tax advisers to Sembcorp in the transation. KPMG acted as Sacyr Tax Advisors with Juan Infante.
