Intercontinental Exchange’s $920 Million Block Trade


Davis Polk advised the underwriter Goldman Sachs & Co. in the transaction.

The transaction consisted in a block trade of 9,180,568 shares of common stock of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. by a selling shareholder. The shares sold in the offering were issued to the selling shareholder in connection with ICE’s acquisition of Ellie Mae, Inc., which was completed on September 4, 2020. The common stock is listed on the NYSE under the symbol “ICE.”

ICE is a global operator of regulated exchanges, clearing houses and listing venues and a provider of data services for commodity, fixed income and equity markets.
