HanseMerkur Grundvermögen’s Acquisition Of Part Of Römertor Development Project


Ashurst advised HanseMerkur Grundvermögen, a subsidiary of the HanseMerkur insurance group, on the acquisition of a part of the project development Römertor in Gersthofen near Augsburg. The seller is Zima Immobilienentwicklung GmbH.

Zima will be constructing on a site of approximately 15,000 sqm by the end of 2021 an urban quarter with 90 assisted living apartments and several point-blocks containing 119 privately financed apartments.

HanseMerkur acquired the assisted living complex along with a commercial part of the property and service facilities with a usable space of 6,500 sqm by way of a forward deal. The complex is let to Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe on a long-term basis. The property will be integrated into an open-ended special real estate fund of HanseMerkur Grundvermögen.
