Epic Games’ Acquisition of Psyonix


Gunderson Dettmer advised Psyonix on the deal

Psyonix, a virtual reality video game developer and company behind the hugely popular Rocket League, has completed its acquisition by Epic Games. No deatails of the deal have been released.

Epic Games, Inc., along with its subsidiaries, develops games for to PCs, consoles, mobiles, VRs, and the Web. It also offers game engine technologies to developers worldwide.

Psyonix Inc. develops and publishes video games. The company was founded in 2012 and is based in San Diego, California.

The Gunderson Dettmer deal team was led by Jeff Higgins (Picture) and included partners Mark Foster, Brendan McCarthy, Steve Ray and John Tolpa, special counsel Heather Aune, of counsel Anna Westfelt, and associates Ryan Gunderson, Michael Deitch, Jackie Cheng, Cameron Jahansouz, Lily Kim, Alex Li, Justin Peters, Richard Sapien and Jie Wang.
