The Braunschweig public prosecutor’s office has brought an indictment against the former chairman of the board of management of Volkswagen AG, Prof. Martin Winterkorn, as well as against the chairman of the supervisory board, Hans Dieter Pötsch, and the chairman of the board of management, Dr. Herbert Diess, for alleged market manipulation.
Volkswagen AG considered the indictment of the company for alleged market manipulation as a result of an alleged failure to make an ad hoc disclosure in connection with the diesel issue in the United States in 2015 to be unfounded and strongly rejected the allegations by the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor’s Office.
